Major iPhone Hacking Tool Just Leaked Online! TUE, 24 MAR 2026

Okay, so this is a pretty big deal for iPhone and iPad users. A super advanced hacking tool, previously used by government-backed groups, just got leaked online. It's called DarkSword, and someone dumped it on GitHub, a site where coders share their work. Cybersecurity experts are sounding the alarm because this tool is so easy to use that basically anyone can now grab it and start trying to hack iPhones and iPads. It targets devices running older versions of Apple's operating system, like iOS 18 or earlier. Think about it – if you haven't updated your phone in a while, you could be at risk.

Why does this matter to you? Well, a huge chunk of active Apple devices – we're talking hundreds of millions – are still running these older, vulnerable systems. This leaked tool can easily steal all your sensitive info: contacts, messages, call history, and even your Wi-Fi passwords stored in your iOS keychain. Apple did issue an emergency update on March 11 for really old devices, but their main message is clear: keeping your software up to date is the BEST way to stay safe. If your phone is running the latest iOS, you're good. But if not, this is a serious wake-up call to update right now before criminals start using this widely.

Are you usually on top of updating your phone, or do you tend to wait a bit? What's your biggest worry when you hear about these kinds of security leaks?
